As the year wraps up, December is shaping up to be a busy month as well. From industry awards celebrations to year-end networking opportunities, this month represents the culmination of the game industry’s event season as companies reflect on their successes and look ahead to 2026. With emerging technologies, AI integration, and innovation continuing to shape the industry through events, December offers unique opportunities for networking and celebrating end-year achievements, especially for indie studios.

The Game Awards (Dec 12) returns to celebrate gaming excellence, while Pocket Gamer Connects Canary Islands (Dec 1-3) brings industry professionals together in a unique location. SIGGRAPH Asia (Dec 15-18) features cutting-edge discussions on graphics, VR, and emerging technologies with AI at the forefront, while The Game Gala (Dec 10-11) and IndieCade Creators Retreat (Dec 11-12) celebrate indie gaming and creative achievements. GamesBeat CTRL Hollywood & Games (Dec 11) brings together creators and industry leaders for discussions on AI, game design, and the future of interactive entertainment as the industry prepares for 2026 innovations.
Alongside these events, we’re excited to highlight two new events making their December debut on our calendar: Lake George Games Expo (Dec 6), a regional gathering for gaming enthusiasts and industry professionals to celebrate tabletop and video games in a scenic upstate New York location, and Bilbao International Games Conference (Dec 12-13), bringing global game developers and studios together for business development, networking, and showcasing the latest in game development and design.
