Speaking of memory, on the industry front, hardware cost pressures remain a key and rather depressing theme. Memory and storage pricing continues to skyrocket into the stratosphere by unending AI infrastructure demand with leading suppliers prioritizing high-margin data center contracts against us little folks. This has kept DRAM and NAND markets tight, contributing to sustained cost pressure across PCs, consoles, and handheld platforms. While some short-term pricing stabilization is emerging, analysts expect structurally higher component costs to remain a factor through 2026, and probably 2027, as AI-driven capacity allocation continues to reshape semiconductor supply chains.

Leading the month is Game Developers Conference (Mar 9–13), the industry’s flagship developer event where design, tech, production, and business converge with panels, matchmaking, and networking across the ecosystem.
