Online global conference features game developer talks alongside a dedicated Steam Sale and showcase featuring 40+ games
[September 18, 2026] – Game Devs of Color Expo (GDoCExpo), now in its eleventh year, takes place starting Tuesday, running September 22–25. Organized by the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Game Devs of Color, the four-day event will feature conference sessions, developer interviews, and new game announcements from creators of color, including a conversation with Zaire Lanier, writer on South of Midnight. The game won Games for Impact at The Game Awards 2025 and Game of the Year at the Games for Change Awards 2026.
The GDoCExpo Direct will close out the conference on Friday, September 25 at 3 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. ET on the GDoCExpo YouTube channel, featuring more than 40 new games, announcements, and exclusive updates.
Global Watch Parties
In-person watch parties are expanding globally this year — New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Portland, Seattle, Rochester, Chicago, Vancouver, Montclair, Glendale, Lahore (Pakistan), Singapore and more — giving attendees the chance to watch the conference together and connect with local developers and games community members.
