What is a Fan Fest?
Phoenix Comicon Fan Fest is a second convention in addition to Phoenix Comicon. Fan Fest is a pop culture convention featuring actors, top comic book writers and artists, programming, and features exhibitors, vendors and costuming for those fans who can’t get enough of Phoenix Comicon!
When and Where?
December 12-14, 2014 at the University of Phoenix Glendale Stadium
What are the hours?
The Exhibitor hall will be open
Is there parking?
Yes there is free parking surrounding the University of Phoenix Glendale Stadium.
Why is this in Glendale?
The University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale offers space at an affordable rate during winter. We love the Phoenix Convention Center and will hold our summer show there for years to come, but sadly their rates and the prices of hotel rooms downtown Phoenix during winter are cost prohibitive.
Why does Phoenix need another event?
Because there is interest and demand for this show. Since our first show in 2002 we have been asked to provide a second event within Phoenix. We’ve read the feedback in our surveys and on Facebook asking for our show to be in a cooler season. We put both those requests together in creating Phoenix Comicon Fan Fest during December.
How is this different or similar to other “Fan” events?
Phoenix Comicon Fan Fest will provide the same level of service and value that we seek to bring with Phoenix Comicon. We’re aware there are other events within Arizona and we aim to provide more guests, better programming, a larger exhibitor hall space, and a more enjoyable overall experience at an affordable price.
What can I do at Fan Fest?
Explore the Exhibitor Hall checking out geeky items and artwork. Get a signature from your favorite actor, have a comic artist sign your comic books and check out all the costumes.
Who is Fan Fest geared for?
The Fans of all things pop culture.
Does going to Fan Fest get me into Comicon?
No, they are separate events.
Is there still going to be a Comicon?
Yes Phoenix Comicon will be held on May 28-31, 2015 at the Phoenix Convention Center.
How much does it cost to get into Fan Fest?
|Till Oct 11th: Full||$30.00|
|Till Nov 1st: Full||$35.00|
|Till Nov 30th: Full||$40.00|

How do I become a vendor?
At this time, our Exhibitor Hall and Artist Alley will be invite only. Should we open the sale process we will post the information on the website.
Will they have food?
Yes, the concession stands at the stadium will be open, and there are many restaurants close by at the Westgate Shopping Center. http://westgateaz.com/visitorinfo/contact/
Are there hotels?
We are still working on setting up hotels.
Will there be Programming?
Yes, we will feature panels with our comic book creators and actors, as well as costuming and kids programming through out the weekend.
Will Guests have panels?
Yes, the seating will be limited so you will want to go early.
How can I host a panel at Fan Fest?
We will have limited panels at Fan Fest due to space constrictions.
Will Programming or Events cost extra?
Only if it is a special event and that will be noted on the website and in programing guide.
Will there be Guests?
Yes, we are working on getting guests for Fan Fest and will announce them once they are confirmed.
Can I get a Photo Op or Signature?
Yes you will be able to get Signatures and we will announce the photo op schedule as we get closer to the event.
Will Fan Fest be back in 2015?
We plan to be.
Can I volunteer?
Yes! Fan Fest will require hundreds of volunteers to effectively run. Please check our volunteer page for pending information.
What if I already volunteer for Phoenix Comicon?
We’d love to have you help out at Fan Fest. We anticipate many volunteers from Phoenix Comicon will also participate.
What are the benefits?
Volunteer benefits are the same as Phoenix Comicon and depend on your title.
What if my question isn’t listed here?
Please email email@example.com with any additional questions.

Like most of the activities under the Steel Media banner, Pocket Gamer Connects aims to be a wholly inclusive event, providing something of value to a wide range of industry players – from global corporations looking to hone their strategy right down to small indie developers seeking out a little inspiration and some new contacts.
Pocket Gamer Connects London 2015 will tackle the industry from two angles. On the macro scale we’ll look at global game publishing strategies and opportunities with a focus on the most interesting markets and hottest topics (including global regulation and brand marketing).
Then on the more micro level, our Indie survival guide will look at the process of game making, covering off everything from creativity through production to sustainability and asking how can you marry the games you want to make with the business models that are working and trying to establish the formula for the next billion dollar game.

The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is the world’s largest game jam event. Think of it as a hackathon focused on game development. It is the growth of an idea that in today’s heavily connected world, we could come together, be creative, share experiences and express ourselves in a multitude of ways using video games – it is very universal.
The weekend stirs a global creative buzz in games… while at the same time exploring the process of development, be it programming, iterative design, narrative exploration or artistic expression. It is all condensed into a 48 hour development cycle. Although the event is heavily focused on programming, there are many other areas where people who don’t code can contribute to a game.

Short for “Music And Gaming Festival,” MAGFest is a four day long party dedicated to the appreciation of video game music, gaming of all types, and the gaming community. The festival runs 24 hours a day, and offers consoles, arcades, tabletop, LAN, live video game cover bands, chiptunes, vendors, guest speakers, and much much more.
It’s not a convention, it’s a festival!
What makes MAGFest unique is that it’s a non-profit event run by fans for fans. There are no corporate sponsors, no over-crowded showfloors, and no top-secret-behind-closed-doors showings. MAGFest is built from the ground up to be a party-like atmosphere with focus on community and fan creations, which creates an environment that no other expo or convention can ever recreate.
How did MAGFest start?
MAGFest started in 2002, originally under the name “Mid-Atlantic Gaming Festival.” Its volunteer force has worked tirelessly for over a decade to help it grow and mature to the point its at today. It has exploded in size from its original 300, to 9000 in 2013, with an expected 12,000 or more for MAGFest 12 in January 2014.
Who runs MAGFest?
MAGFest is run by MAGFest, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to furthering the appreciation of games and video game music. MAGFest Inc.’s main method of achieving this goal is to create events which provide a means for people to enjoy games, as well as musical concerts. We hold several different events throughout the year, including Bit Gen Gamer Fest, MAGStock, and our touring concert series Game Over.
PAX South 2015 and its sub-events have been practically doubling in size every year, and now we’re treated with a South event in San Antonio in 2015! Stay tuned here for more information about the event as it is revealed.
“Since its launch in 2004, PAX events have doubled in size almost every year, and our Seattle and Boston events represent the two largest gaming festivals in North America,” Penny Arcade Business Manager Robert Khoo said in a statement. “We’ve been hearing for years that those in the south had a tough time making it to the northern corners of the country; PAX South has always been a matter of when rather than if.”
