An Exclusive Mixer for Games Industry Professionals on March 10

SAN FRANCISCO - February 24, 2010 - Women in Games International (WIGI), in partnership with Social Gold, today announced that it will host its 3rd annual mixer at GDC 2010 on Wednesday, March 10 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm.

The academic interest of WiG 2009 is represented through a strand at this year's DiGRA (http://digra2009.newport.ac.uk) to be held at Brunel University from 1st - 4th September 2009.

DiGRA is the international games studies research subject association. The benefits of this partnership include presenting WiG research to the wider games studies community, attracting a broad range of work and sharing a rigorous peer review process.

With 14 accepted papers on subjects ranging from machinima to sex and videogames, do keep your eyes on the DiGRA2009 site for programme announcements.

Women in Games International is starting a program of quarterly speaker mixers in Los Angeles coordinated by Amy Allison, our new Mixer Speaker Coordinator. In 2010, we hope to expand this program to other cities.

The first speaker mixer is scheduled for Tuesday, September 22nd at Otis Art Institute in Westchester. We'll start with a one-hour speaker panel on the topic of In-Game Advertising, then adjourn to the Custom Hotel two doors down for drinks and mixing. Stay tuned for RSVP info.
