SAN FRANCISCO – October 27, 2009 – Game Developers Conference® 2010, presented by Think Services, has announced that the call for submissions is open for GDC’s suite of Summits, which take place on the first two days of GDC week in San Francisco, March 9th-10th 2010.This year’s GDC Summit line-up includes two new events in the form of the Social & Online Games Summit and iPhone Games Summit, alongside the GDC Mobile/Handheld, Independent Games, and Serious Games Summits, which are all accepting submissions through November 13th.

IVDC 2009 Celebrates The Italian Game Industry

Great success for the second edition of the Italian developers' National Congress held in Milan at the IULM University

The second edition of the Italian Videogame Developers Conference (www.ivdconf.it) closed at 8.00 p.m. on Friday 9th of October, 2009, with great satisfaction by the curators and the public, held into the Main Conference Hall of the IULM University in Milan, and organized by AIOMI, the Italian Association for the Interactive Multimedia - Movement for the Videogame Culture (www.aiomi.it), with the collaboration of IULM University Foundation.

GDC China 2009: Chinese Indie Game Trends and Opportunities

To give a Chinese perspective on independent development, the first day of GDC China closed with a panel discussion about the state of the market by three local industry veterans.

The speakers were Billy Hsu, CEO of DJL Worldwide, Anson Xu, CEO of Purple-Zone Interactive and founder of Dream2 Interactive, and Tony Chen, online business development manager for Take-Two Asia. All have long experience at big Western publishers like Ubisoft and EA in addition to their experience at Chinese companies.
