November Game Investment Conference to Bring Investors, Studios Together; Wedbush Morgan Managing Director to Keynote

Two-Day Conference Will Cover Potential of Social Gaming, the Funding Process, Promising Game Genres, New Studios to Watch, Original IP

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Oct. 6, 2009 – Investors looking for guidance about the market, or interested in seeing hot new IP in development at indie and established studios should attend Game Path’s Game Investment Conference (GIC), scheduled for Monday – Tuesday, Nov. 2-3, 2009 at the San Jose Marriott, San Jose, Calif.

Wall Street industry analyst Michael Pachter, Managing Director, Wedbush Morgan Securities, Los Angeles, will keynote GIC. Pachter is known for his strong guidance and opinions and is often quoted by game trades, major newspapers and magazines when writing about the business side of the game industry. Before taking the reigns as managing director, Pachter spent two years as director of research. Before joining Wedbush Morgan, he worked as a director at Management Resource Center, a middle market investment bank.

Day One at the Game Investment Conference will focus on the market for investors, with sessions that explore the economics of games and current trends:

• Market Overview/Segmentation with Wanda Meloni, M2 Market Research
• Hot Categories: Casual Games 3.0: Social Games
• What’s Happening in Digital Distribution
• Virtual Goods – Real Money
• Investment Models [Revenue Streams]
• z2Live Session on Mobile Multiplayer Platform
• Projections [Panel – Two Analysts]

GIC will offer Technology and Game Demonstrations in the evening, in the Game Path tradition of intimate, full access gatherings tailored to both industry luminaries and up-and-comers. Attendees will also experience first-hand technology and demos from high-quality, never-before-seen projects.

Day Two will help studios currently seeking seed funding or new investment rounds determine their options and offer the investor exposure to new properties. Experts in financing for games as well as studios that have been through the process will offer insight through sessions and panels that will include:

• Walkthrough [Funding Process Overview]
• Show Me the Money [Various Financing Strategies]
• Making Your Case [What Investors Want to Hear]
• IP Protection [What You Need to Know to Protect your Investment]
• Studies [Panel of Four Studios – Funding From Different Sources]

A Game Pitch session will let investors see early stage titles from studios seeking funding.

Interested parties can register for the Game Investment Conference at http://www.gameinvestmentconference.com. Early registration for the conference is $850 in advance for both days and $525 for one day attendance. At-the-door registration is $1275 for both days and $750 for one day.

Registration for the Technology and Game Demonstrations is free with conference admission. This has been a popular Game Path event so developers are encouraged to register early.

The Game Investment Conference is produced by Game Path LLC, the largest independent conference and trade show management company.
