The Italian Videogame Developers Conference (IVDC) 2010, held at the LUISS University in Rome on the Friday 3rd, Saturday 4th and Monday 6th December, is readying itself for an influx of national and foreign visitors for this free to attend event.
Marco Accordi Rickards, President of the IVDC said, “We’ve now only a few days away from our 3rd conference and the signs are that interest in the Italian videogame development community has never been so high. Our decision to continue making this event free to attend and having English as the official language has definitely increased IVDC’s attraction to overseas visitors. However, we hope they will not only enjoy the IVDC programme of international and national speakers, but also enjoy Rome itself – there is never a better time to visit Rome than in December, it’s quite beautiful!”
This year’s IVDC will feature not only leading figures in the videogames industry, but also the consumer show IVDC PLAY, held at Technotown, a short distance from the LUISS University, where new games and products from Italy’s leading videogame developers will be showcased and available to play.
Marco concludes, “We’re making great strides in Italy to begin building our industry and knowledge base into a world leader, and the IVDC is our voice to the world. Everyone who attends the IVDC will be impressed, educated and above all, inspired with what Italy has to offer.”
