Last week GameHorizon announced dates and plans for its fifth annual conference. The GameHorizon Conference 2012 will take place on 27th-28th June at the iconic Sage Gateshead and around the NewcastleGateshead Quayside.
The conference will again feature keynotes and presentations by leading figures from the games, creative and interactive entrainment industries with an audience of businesses, entrepreneurs and media, for two days of inspiring talks and networking.
There have been some key changes in the conference team this year. After five years as conference director and even longer as founder of the GameHorizon network, Carri Cunliffe has founded her own consultancy business, Secret Sauce. Carri will continue to be involved in GameHorizon as a member of the advisory board, continuing her commitment and support to the North East games industry. Carri said, “I am very much looking forward to being a delegate at this great conference and will be supporting the GameHorizon members and team as best I can.”
Nina Cliff, previously business development manager at GameHorizon, has returned to take up the position of producer of the event alongside Elspeth Lawson. Nina said, “I’m very excited about returning to GameHorizon. It’s amazing how the event has grown and the loyal community it has created over the years. We’re working closely with the advisory board to ensure 2012 will continue the great work achieved to date.”
In addition to this, GameHorizon has announced a conference partnership with Game Republic, the games network for Yorkshire and the UK. Historically the two networks have had a close working relationship and joint objectives in supporting game development communities.
Jamie Sefton, Managing Director of Game Republic will take up a position on the advisory board for the conference. He said, “I’m delighted to be a part of shaping the GameHorizon Conference, which remains a fantastic and unique event on the UK games industry calendar.”
Tickets will soon be on sale for the conference and speakers and session will be announced over the coming weeks. Please visit http://www.gamehorizonconference.com for more information.
