Charles Hudson, Host, Social Gaming Summit 2010

Charles Hudson is VP of Business Development for Serious Business. He was formerly the Sr. Director for Business Development at Gaia Interactive, the fastest growing online hangout for teens. Prior to Gaia, Charles worked in New Business Development at Google and focused on new partnership opportunities for early-stage products in the advertising, mobile, and e-commerce markets. Prior to joining Google, he was a Product Manager for IronPort Systems, a leading provider of anti-spam hardware appliances that was acquired by Cisco Systems for $830 million in 2007.

Charles spent several years working at In-Q-Tel, the strategic venture capital group for the Central Intelligence Agency. While at In-Q-Tel, he focused on identifying investment opportunities that could deliver significant value to the CIA and the commercial market in both the short and long term.Charles Hudson holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B.A. in Economics and Spanish from Stanford University.

About Future Play

Future Play 2010 is the place to explore groundbreaking ideas alongside some of the world's most interesting games researchers and developers. Peer-reviewed researchers from universities around the world will be presenting their findings at Future Play on future game design theory and technology, future game impacts and applications, and future game design talent.

Since 2002, Algoma University has been hosting this international conference to advance game design and technology. Future Play features peer­-reviewed academic research and discussion on creative and experimental game design and development. Formerly known as the CGT Conference, Future Play brings together researchers, developers, and government partners for formal and informal engagement and examination of emergent features of computer game development for entertainment, for learning/teaching, for serious purposes and to impact society. Future Play also provides an important forum for future game development talent to gain perspective on the knowledge, skills and attitude required to succeed in the game development world. Beginning with Future Play 2007 Algoma University teamed up with the Ontario University Institute of Technology to give Future Play attendees the chance to interact with some of the most talented people in the games world today. We are pleased to present Future Play 2010 alongside GDC Canada during Vancouver Digital Week 2010.
