Dare ProtoPlay Announces 2010 Line-up

Friday, 30 July 2010: Dare ProtoPlay, the renowned event which showcases innovation in gaming, has unveiled its 2010 highlights. Headlined by Dare to Be Digital, a leading international computer games competition, the event includes talks, demonstrations and the opportunity to play and vote for the games of the 15 competition finalists.

Games development exhibition by former Canterbury College students

Former Canterbury College games development students are showcasing their work to industry professionals in an exhibition that is being run independently by them. The exhibition will take place this Saturday (24th July 2010) in The Harris Hall at the St Lawrence cricket ground in Canterbury and will also be open to the public.

Game Republic Showcases New Talent To Region's World

Screen Yorkshire's industry-led Game Republic network is to host its third Student Showcase on Tuesday 25th May at University of Huddersfield, when games students from Yorkshire will be battling for cash prizes and work placements.

GES Europe makes call for papers

The first Game Education Summit Europe will take place at the Danish Academy of Digital Interactive Entertainment (DADIU) in Copenhagen, according to event organisers Game Path.

The summit is scheduled for June 22-23, 2010 and aims to bring together academics from universities and art schools, along with policymakers and industry professionals, to discuss the state of game education in Europe.

IGDA Leadership Forum Keynote Speaker Announced

The IGDA Leadership Forum confirms Samantha Ryan as Keynote Speaker

Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President of Development and Production for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (WBIE), oversees the development and production teams responsible for all of the company’s videogames, including those based on original properties, Studio franchises and outside licenses, from inception through release. Upcoming WBIE titles include Scribblenauts and Scooby-Doo First Frights. Recent games also include F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin and Watchmen: The End Is Nigh.
